We believe that every dog deserves a second chance. Whether it's related to behavioral issues or just a dog that no one seems to want anymore, we are up for the challenge. Not only do we reprogram and train, but we take special care to make sure our dogs end up in the right home. A lot of dogs come from people who didn't know what they were getting into and find themselves with "too much dog". Other times, people run into major health concerns or life situations and need their dog to go to a new home. We also work with rescues around the country to save dogs from euthanization and train and place them into homes once they have completed our program.

"...BUT the one thing we knew that we did right was heading north to find Mike and Second Chance Bird Dogs. We firmly believe that Mike’s true calling in life is to rehabilitate, train, and find the best life possible for these dogs. He is truly gifted, not only in regards to the dogs, but for patience with excessive/overprotective dog owners (like ourselves) with one hundred questions and a million “How is Parker doing today?” messages! Mike answered every question, kept us informed along the way, and most of all reassured us that Parker would be ok. Fast forward 66 days- the scared, insecure dog who would lash out in fear, is now confident and comfortable in her own fur. Without Mike I would likely still be on my laundry room floor crying. Instead, we are sitting on our couch enjoying the second hand excitement of Parker’s new family knowing what a true gem she is."
